Yesterday we took a stroll round the Government Gardens and up to the museum. We walked round the volcanic lake which was really strange. There is a lot of bubbling mud and smelly steam! We came back to the hostel and used the geo-thermal hot pool (along with 10 lads in their speedos)!! Last night we went to a Maori Villiage Culture show, this was really good fun. We got to look round the village and then we had a show put on for us, this included lots of singing and dancing - including a very scary haka! We had a traditional meal which had been cooked in an underground oven, ate far too much!!
Today we have been for a walk around town and had a coffee sat outside in the sun. We leave early tomorrow morning for Taupo so will be getting an early night.

Tony & Sheila Good job you two are young, I can't get past you being continually soaked, freezing and then having no heating in hostels! I take my hat off to you both. This entry cheered me up - thermal hot pool, singing, dancing, EATING! Looking good! Look forward to the next episode. Much love T&S xx
Sarah Hi Kylie (and Rachael!) Haven't had time to catch your blog for AGES so catching up now it's bank holiday weekend :-) I LOVED Rotarua, the Maori Village is great fun - did you enjoy the Hangi? NZ was my fave place when I went travelling - surprises round every corner! Stay safe!xxx
