Today we are catching the train from Bergen to Voss for the start of our kayaking/hiking trip. It takes about a hour on the train. I am not sure if we will have any communications out on the fiords so my blog may be missing until the 29th June.
It's 10:30pm. We had a good kayak today on the fjord. Unfortunately it rained almost the entire time. We got to our final destination for the day and were faced with the task of setting up a shelter to sit and a shelter to keep all the food. Then put up our own tents. I am fairly hardy but it almost got the better of me. Especially after I smelt the long drop toilet! Our tour guide called Tom is a about 25. English but has also lived in Australia. The rest of the tour is made up of 3 siblings (2 girls aged 17 and 22 and their brother aged 20) from Indiana in the US, 2 men possibly of Indian origins, early 30's perhaps, one from Boston the other from Washington DC, (both born in the US) a girl from NYC in late twenties probably, and a girl from Melbourne aged 20. And the 4 of us. All very nice. Tom cooked dinner of rice, BBQ chicken and sausages and we made a salad. It's still broad daylight! I doubt it will get dark. Anyway, as you have guessed if you are reading this, we have mobile coverage. In the middle of nowhere. How unaustralian!! Tomorrow is hike day. Looks awesome. I won't upload any photos as I only have a small amount of data left. But look out for them on Tuesday! Night.
