Our Global Gallivants
Woke up this morning with mosquito bites in the strangest places. Five bites on my face, 1 on my finger, 1 on the palm of my hand and 3 on my ear! I'm sleeping right next to the Chinese buffet, so they must know Dave is sick. I thought we saw the best of the temples yesterday, but the temples we saw today were even better. These temples were smaller but with less people. Some parts of the temples were better preserved as well. It was a peaceful experience. The temples we saw today were Pre Rup, Banteay Srey and Preah Khan. Banteay Srey was built in 967 AD from pink and yellow sandstone. It is one of the prettiest temples and the carvings are amazingly well preserved. Pink sandstone is a ***********e than the sandstone used at other temples. We had a really delicious Khmer soup for lunch. Ingredients included fish, kefir lime leaves and lemon grass. Dinner was in a ritzy place by the night market and was very good. Afterwards, we walked over to the night market and had a 1 hour foot massage, but it was not very good. The tour days are tiring, so I won't elaborate much. The pictures speak a thousand words. It was a great day.
