We had to change hotel rooms this morning as our room had been booked so after moving next door and climbing 2 really steep staircases we arrived in our room which stunk of rotting cabbage that had made its way out of someone's bowels, it was disgusting, we opened the windows to air the place out and headed out for the day. Wet and miserable day today. We started out by walking to Anne Franks house but didn't go in ad the line up was huge and it was expensive to get in, we were happy to just see the outside, we then had and amazing breakfast at Teddy's, I had a traditional English breaky of beans, sausage, bacon, eggs and toast with a hot chocolate and Trent had choc chip pancakes with a beer. We continued on through the streets of Amsterdam admiring the beautiful autumn trees, canals and swans and stumbled across a traditional townhouse from the 1700-1800's that offered a tour through the rooms to get a glimpse of what it was like to be wealthy and live in those days, it was surprisingly large inside and 3 stories high, the manicured back garden was amazing, because the couple that had lived there had no children they willed it to the city of Amsterdam along with all the furnishings to be used as a museum. We then made our way to Rembrandts house which Trent was happy to just see the outside and as it was his thing, I too was happy with that. We decided to make our way back to the hotel as it had been a huge day of walking, after a brief look at the markets on the way, we got back to the hotel and did a small grocery shop, where I bought a bottle of Smirnoff Cosmo for €10 mmmmmm. We bought 2 cones of frites (chips) for dinner and called it a day. Off to London tomorrow woohoo.
