Vang Vieng is the planet's most improbable party town. Located deep in central Laos, in one of the poorest places in the country. We arrived here after an uncomfortable 6 hour journey in a mini van. A stunning place with its towering limestone peaks, the area has many caves, lagoons and bars to explore! We met some great people here and spent our time playing lots of volley ball, swimming,rope swinging and caving with them. In the evenings we did as all the other backpackers do here and ate western food and watched countless episodes of Friends, as well as visiting the local nightclub (half locals/half foreigners) surprisingly they still enforce the 11.30 pm curfew here. It's been great to have a break from all the culture but after just two days we are more than ready to move on.
