How utterly wonderful your blog is! The pics of the Simian Mountains are unbelievably beautiful - it reminds of the Grand Canyon. To think you are in Kenya now - the country Mum's dreamt of visiting all her life. And if you had not been getting married in October we would have been meeting you somewhere there now! Our landy sits forlornly urban bound longer to go somewhere , while the price of diesel goes through the roof (R11.43 per litre!). The house painting's coming on slowly, the chaos never ends but we are thrilled we've picked up your invitations - they are divine. Tell us where you crossed the equator - did you have any bubbly? If not, go back and do it again!
And where (and how) did you change from driving on the right to driving on the left!!

Hi Both,
Great to read of your (generally) happy trails. I hope you are through Sudan. You mention "trouble" there -- well that could be the year's understatement as our media is full of the massacres in Darfur. I'm amazed that there is no sense of it where you are, but let's keep it that way and stay safe and surrounded by friends.
Sending you many hugs, and a few imaginary showers and dinners,
Nic and Ron

Hey you three. Thinking of you guys today. See you are on the way to Kenya. Enjoy keeping up with the tales. As Rob so says, its back to normal behind the desk but silently itching to get dirty and back into the bush. Kenya, is well, an experience. I found that if you need the loo in the Masai Mara, go near baboons. At least you know that there aren't too many lions near by. Its hard to pick a spot between big cat carcasses. Strange the tips I give people these days :) We are off to the Hell in a few weeks. Other than that Gnu gets dirty a bit on the farm roads, and its hellava dusty in our driveway! Travel safe and keep the updates coming. Us x

Hi Guys, Well it looks as if this travelling around in a Landrover in dusty Islamis Africa agrees with you. Such great entries in the Blog. i enjoy reading them even though i am usuallly stuck behind my desk with both my cell and desk phone competing in usual work mode. It is amazing to think of you two doing that while i work. I love it, wish we were all there too. Safe driving and cant wait for the update in Kenya.

Hi guys!! Sorry that you havent been getting many messages - just imagined you have more exciting things to do than read my messages! Havent forgotten you!! Just grabbing a few minutes between patients to catch up with your news and photos - still very envious except you can keep the tummy bugs! Alls well for me and Ben - living in nearly as much dust as you what with the building work. Planning a trip tp Canada in September which is something to look forward to. Work's much the same - more babies on the horizon - not mine! Right - gotta go and heal the world (well Hastings!) xxxxxxx

Hi Bruce and Sarah,
Just wondering how you have found it so far? Doing an expedition following a similar route from Egypt to Cape Town over the summer starting 16 June. How is the situation in Sudan and has it changed since you were there? How have you been navigating and what maps have you used along the route? Your help would be much appreciated,
