Howdy Sarah and Bruce: Looks like all you need is an official ceremony to send you off and on your way south. In Nepal (where I used to live) we used to cut the heads of chickens and splash the blood over the hood of anyone who bought a car in my village. It brings good luck. The Nepalis just did a similar ceremony on Royal Nepal Airline's Boeing 757 that has been having repeated electrical problems flying to London. It seems to have worked. You might try it. I'm sure there are some Gurkhas running around near you in UK who would love to get their kukuris out for a good send off party. Don't use frozen chickens.
Nicola and I wish you the best of travels.
Sweet dreams and Happy trails.

Hi Guys,
Good luck with your final prep. We will be departing in May from London (going similar route as you down to Durban) so we might bump into you on the way.

Hi there Bruce. I, Nikki, went to school with Robert from Standard 6 to Matric with your brother, Robert at Ixopo High School. I also own a Defender Landy and we are out and about all the time in the bundus with it. It is my our dream (when we retire and early I hope) that we do a trans africa stint. Live in PE and have some awesome sites to go to. Enjoy and make the most of it.

I am heading up to work in a camp in the caprivi (namibia) at the end of the month. it's called Ngepi and won Getaway's best campsite of southern africa award last year. If it's not on your route home - it should be! Please swing by for a couple of days and maybe a few tigerfish??
