Day two of the Catlin's and we venture further along the scenic but rather wet coastline. First half of today involved several more failed attempts at sealion and penguin spotting before finishing up in Dunedin for a bit of city tourism.
Feeling out of touch with my inner craftiness now that the scarf is knitted up, I'm now on the hunt for a crochet hook (slightly more travel friendly than knitting needles). With lack of people to teach me I'm hoping internet diagrams and a bit a patience will help me out eventually. Anyway, Sunday meant wool bars were closed so not this time.
Sunday also meant the scenic gorge railway was a no go so no biking/train ride this time. One of the disadvantages of visiting New Zealand in the off season. Sunday did not mean the pubs were shut though so a pint or 2 at a pokey little Scottish themed bar kept us entertained before dinner.
Today was going to be the day. The day for our first kiwi Fush n Chups! With an excited bounce in our step we sought out the recommended chippy and were minutes away from those greasy goodies, but on seeing the queue and realising our bladders couldn't wait any longer before being emptied, the Fush n Chups evaded us once more and it was another camper meal that night. Fingers crossed for Omaru tomorrow!
Free camp on the beach again. Number 3 in a row is fine for sink body washing but the hair is now in need of a wash! Treat tomorrow tonight I think!
Love Jo x
