Another rather bumpy bus ride through Nepalese countryside as we headed down south to Chitwan National Park.
Hordes of hotel touts bombarded us as we stepped off the bus. Not knowing where we were or how far from town we accepted the offer of a 50p ride to a hotel. With only a few hours of day left we wandered the streets of this made to measure tourist town, which had been dramatically over measured...100 beds for every tourist and every restaurant as dead as a dodo!
The next day started with washing the Ellie's and then wandered down the river side and spotted a couple of huge crocodiles as well as a gharial. Considering that there may be more in the bushes around us and potentially rhinos too, we lost our bottle and hot footed it back to town in time for an elephant ride through the forest. A couple of deer and a wild boar later I climbed guiltily off the elephant and contemplated the waste of money!
Chitwan done and not to be recommenced, but keen to get back to Kathmandu for reliable food :)
