"It's just another day, in paradiiiise" LOVE a bit of Phil Collins! I think Phil wrote this song whilst hanging out on Long Beach on Koh Rong Island in Cambodia lol.
We started our (1st whole) day on Koh Rong Island with a deliciously refreshing fruit platter for breakfast. Included was: pink dragon fruit, white dragon fruit, banana, melon, mango, papaya, pineapple. $2's for a mountain load! The best fruit of my life!
Straight after breakfast we headed to our privately chartered small fishing boat of which we took, along with 8 others, to a nearby isolated island to snorkel for the morning.
We had a lot of fun. The marine life was not the best we've seen, however it was a very chill and enjoyable morning. In true Cambodian style however, there was an old abandoned temple on this tiny piece of land following a set of stairs and an over-grown walkway.....eery!
Famished, we headed back for a rice and noodle lunch.
We met more great people on this morning outing; Shanndara and Ben to be specific.
A newly married couple; Shanndara from Portland, Oregon and Ben from Sydney, Australia, they were really wonderful company.
We then spent the afternoon with our new company on long beach watching the sun set.....it really was friggin' fabulous! I wish we could upload some of the pictures we took on this afternoon. Unfortunately they are on our big camera so we cannot.
The sunset was followed by a delicious BBQ shrimp and chicken dinner on the beach avec plenty of beers with our new friends. Lots of story swapping, recommendations and talks of the future were thoroughly enjoyed.
