Travel musings from Sonia
It was a beautiful autumn day in London yesterday. I spent most of the day at the Tower of London-an incredible place with a lot of history (not all of it pleasant!). It was great to wander around and learn a bit more about English royal history and see the Crown Jewels-very impressive.
In the late afternoon I visited the Tower Bridge exhibition which is housed in the upper level of the Bridge with impressive views up and down the Thames. It was beautiful in the late afternooon sun.
I then met up with Uncle Alan again at Padington Station and we walked back to his flat in Maida Vale through Little Venice which was lovely. Bushra had cooked a lovely Middle Eastern meal. While I was there Aunty Bev rang to say Grandma had died in her sleep a few hours earlier. Very sad news. She was 92 and had done very well but we will all miss her greatly. My love and thoughts are with all my family in NZ and Uncle Alan and my cousins here in the UK.
Love, Sonia
