Not much to report from today. Headed over to the otherside of the island this morning to check out Honeymoon beach. Saw lots of hermit crabs, a massive spider, breadfruit, banana and mango trees yet still no sign of my flip flops. Pretty angry about that to be honest. I can't go barefoot everywhere on the mainland!
There's not many people at this place. About 8 of us and tomorrows Sunday so the staff are all off to church and not much will happen. Plus pretty much everyones leaving!
Andrea and I might be on our own in the dorm again. This ones possibly bigger than last nights too.
Oh yeh Andrea is a German girl who is also on the ultimate lei package with me and Ed. Somehow Ed's ended up on the other island across the way, with the other boys!
I bribed a guy with a boat to take me over there for an hour because I'm a hopeless romantic like that and I knew it'd be the only chance I have to see Matt again in Fiji.
It was pretty bad timing though as he was leaving to go do a stupid summit trip. After my trek in the Malaysian jungle I am never doing one of them again. My scars hurt in the sun, is that normal?
Anyhoo, so I guess thats the end of that chapter
(Btw it's totally not stalking, it's just being like Matt Damon in the Adjustment Bureau! Anyone who makes me smile is worth keeping around)
Onwards and upwards.
On the plus side I got a free village tour with Colin as we had to walk through it to get to the resort.
The kids there were so cute. Apparently from 6-14 they go to boarding school on the other side of the island and are home for weekends.
There was a cute little one with downs syndrome. I guess that happens all over the world too. The wonder of genetics!
It's amazing how people can live with nothing and still be happy. Very basic living conditions, limited electricity supplies and very little contact with the outside world. The setting for which, is all stunning but I couldn't do it for more than a week.
I'm quite looking forward to the next proper tour where we're not on island time and I'll have a chance to get to know people properly before they leave!
Oh and FYI my bug bite count is up to about 20!
Oh how I have not missed that part of travelling
Sitting on a bunkbed, watching a film on a small laptop, with new friends is always a great end today.
Watched Step Brothers (again!) with the South Africans (Nick and Dylan)
Boats and hoes!
