Noyelles Travels
Sunday 22nd November
Hired a car from down the road which was quite an effort. Returned to the hotel & then set off for The Villages with the car's trusty navigator. Just about all the way was on dual carriageways & the only frustration was the number of toll booths where we had to pay out single US$ to travel about 2 or 3 miles.
Ultimately we arrived at our destination at lunch time & were most impressed with their lovely single storey house. After lunch we took a walk around the area largely built over the last 10 years. The houses are all very neat & the gardens are covered in manicured lawns & all the occupants have to be over 55. Apparently the area stretches for about 14 miles & houses about 100,000 people with 4 town centres each built on a different theme or period.
For dinner we went into one with a Riverboat theme, complete with a mock rail depot & huge lake for the river steamer wharf. After we walked to the town square where an excellent Soul band were playing but it was fairly cool so we walked on around the complex & returned home.
