Day 72, 14 September 2012, Marrakech. By our last day in Marrakech we were so relaxed we almost went into reverse. There was unrest world wide during the week due to a video on YouTube that cast Allah in a rather unfortunate light. So we cautiously poked out noses out first thing and made a point not to look American. We ventured to the main square to get cash for the Riad (fairly strong aversion to credit cards in Morocco) and returned via the souks - where I may have convinced a couple of vendors I actually spoke French. Only maybe mind you. We even emerged in the place we planned to... dab hands at navigating by then. It being Friday and everything being shut, we were forced to eat lunch at the Riad (sigh...) with a half bottle of Rose and a tasting plate of pasta, gratin, ratatouille, aubergine and courgettes. And a banana smoothie for dessert. Watched a movie, had a nap, emerged from our hobbit hole barely in time for our final dinner on the roof terrace - soft breeze, sunset and a final lamb tajine with prunes... The adventure ends.... long live the adventure - off to the coastal fishing village of Essaouira first thing tomorrow.
