Day 6 and we left the Bay of Islands and took the long drive up north to Cape Reigna, the northernmost point of New Zealand, and the point where the Tasman Sea meets the Pacific. It really did feel like the end of the country too, as the weather was awful, and it was so remote there were only about six people in the whole campsite. At the tip of the Cape is a lighthouse and distance signs from loads of major cities around the world, so we did the touristy snaps and left the bad weather behind. We thought it was supposed to be Mediterranean weather up here!
Driving south we took the scenic route (another few hours added on to the journey but some nice countryside), and stopped off at Whangerei Falls on the way. It was a short walk to the waterfall, and although it was pretty nice everything looks small now compared to Iguazu Falls!
And that was that.....not very exciting, but you try to find excitement when you're living in space smaller than a prison cell!
