Sunday we went fishing in the kayaks at the lake near one of the oyster farms, the water was very shallow in places and perfectly clear. We could see all the molluscs tracking their way on the sandy bottom (no! Not my bottom)! Small stingrays shot across our bows travelling a million miles an hour and massive pelicans sitting on the pilings, only acknowledging our presence when we were arm’s length from them and the big dolphin swimming lazily past on a metre or so away. I went ashore on a small sandy island and had a walk while Bill continued to fish. Unfortunately, no catching was going on.
Went to a great oyster restaurant Sunday night right on the lake, which runs their own farm and harvests their own oysters. The water lapped under the outdoor pier floorboards while we made pigs of ourselves slurping on their oysters. Superb!
Monday now and we have driven to Windang, where Bill grew up. Setting up complete - spot you all in a few days - so busy I find it difficult to find time to keep this updated hahaha. Have another G & T Sandy and a red wine with dinner! Bill's into his beer and spicy dark rum! No wonder the caravan is so heavy with all the liquor on board!
