Survived the croc infested camp site and rolled into Cooktown about 10am. Had to replace a battery in the car first up then went looking around historic Cooktown when I stumbled across the Telstra exchange. Gee I miss work... NOT. High tide in 20mins so might pull out the fishing rods and try to catch some lunch. Life is good. :-)

After a couple of relaxing days in Cairns its time to push on towards Cape York. A quick car poll has revealed Cairns highlights as; visiting the hippy night markets; watching Rhian get drunk at the pub; and the kebab for dinner last night. I'll leave it to you to figure out who nominated what!! We are now in our way to Cape York, maybe getting to Cooktown today???

Just pulled up to take in our first wild crocodile sighting and have some lunch on the side of the road. Fair size salty sun baking on the other side of the river... Sorry, but it's a bit far away for the iPhone camera.

After breakfast at Port Douglas we enjoyed a walk along the beach. Amity working on her tan!!

Camping by the beach at Archer Point just south of Cooktown. Moved back from the beach by about 100 meters due to the funny sign "WARNING Achtung - Recent crocodile sighting in this area" stating the bleeding obvious, crocodile attack may cause death... Quite windy but we are camped in a sheltered area behind the others, so we shouldn't be first on the menu!!
