Well today has been another great day! Writing makes me realise that this morning feels like ages away! We had breakfast and then got our bags ready to leave South Sea island. Whilst we were waiting for our boat we saw another huge boat coming towards 'our' island which was bringing 60 guest, then the other boat would bring the day -goers which meant the island was going to have over 150 travellers! I don't think the island is even big enough for all those people! We said sad goodbyes to Philipa and Rachel, we should be getting on the kiwi bus at the same time so we hope to see them in New Zealand. We headed to our next island, Manta Ray Island. On the boat there we bumped into a girl that had been on the parallel southern sun trip in America! We got to Manta ray island about 11.30 and of course were greeted by more singing and dancing, I love it! Our dorms are lovely there are little sections housing 4 bunk beds off of a main corridor! There are no windows, but we do have mosquito nets and the showers are outside! We sunbathed for a while and then went out snorkelling. The coral reef here is beautiful! You can go just a few metres from shore and you are able to see so many fish! Go a bit further out and you can see groups of fish! This island is bigger than the last and has more buildings but they are all so small and and built beautifully! Later that afternoon we went on a boat out to find some manta rays. We saw one and so all jumped on the water to snorkel with it! It was so cool! We were in the water with the ray for ages! It wasn't how I expected it to look so it was pritty awesome to see one!
This evening we watched the sun go down and then sat with an English couple who have recently moved to Australia and are loving life! We had a beautiful Fijian buffet dinner (everyone has been raving about the 4 course dinner they served the night before, with pudding! So we were a little upset that we didn't get pudding (yes i do have a very sweet tooth Dan) but we probably didn't need it! ) They had spinach soup which was lovely (mum you will be shocked that I enjoyed it!)
After dinner we went back to the beach and 'lounge area' which is a open wooden structure with comfy chairs to watch some Fijian dancing and singing. There must have been about 20 people dancing and singing, it was great! Once they had finished their dancing they got the crowd involved. We did like a Conga line which they called the snake and everyone had to follow what the leader was doing. They were very keen on hip shaking! The lead guy was so energetic! Once the dancing was all finished they sang the goodbye song which is a common occurrence in Fiji and then asked us all to stand in a line so they could shake hands and say goodnight to us all! Fijians are some of the loveliest people I have ever met! Brilliant day!
