Today is our last day on the Fijian islands, we go back to the mainland this evening and then fly to New Zealand tomorrow. Today we planted our own coconut tree on the island. A week before Xmas last year they had a cyclone which ruined a lot including many of their trees so they have started coconut tree planting as a new project. We all had to give our email address so they can email our coconut tree coordinates to us so we can keep an eye on our tree from google maps!
I have had such a brilliant time in Fiji. I have loved the country, loved the 'Fiji time' attitude everyone has, loved the friendliness of all the staff we have met, so many have learnt our names and have given us hugs at random points in the day. I have especially liked the drum they play to let you know when meal times are, I wish that happened at every meal time! I've really enjoyed snorkelling and seeing the fish and coral and LOVED seeing the dolphins! We have met so many people on all the islands which has been lovely!
But now I am really excited for New Zealand, there is only so much sunbathing and reading you can do!
