We set off on a walking tour with a local guide around Florence. It is where Michelangelo's master piece "David" is housed, there are also a couple of other replica's around the city. We didn't bother seeing that as the queues are huge. We saw this awesome gothic church, Santa croce it contains tombs of many famous artists like Michelangelo,Ghiberti, Machiavelli, Dante and Gallileo. We also walked past the baptistry which is renowned for it's three sets of artistically improtant bronze doors. We also saw the pitti palace and Duomo cathedral. After the tour we had a leather demonstration then a group of us got lunch. Tasted the best galati ever while walking through the markets. Then back on the bus on our way to Rome where we have a 5 hour walking tour waiting for us lol!!
We made good time to Rome so we were able to check ourselves into our hotel before our walking tour. We saw so much it was great and got an hour off for dinner to try some delish pizza and pasta, yum yum. We tried the most awesome coffee near the Spanish steps and it only cost 2 euro. We saw the Spanish steps which provides a good view, we through 2 coins in the trevi fountain for good luck, the pantheon, the ancient Rome area of platino and last but not least the colosseum which looked really cool at night so we got a group picture. In the ancient Rome area Owen told us heaps about the history of Rome, he was really good. The walking tour was great we all enjoyed ourselves and it gave us a good insight as to what we wanted to go back into the following day. But man I think we are all b*****ed after a big day of sight seeing!! And yes finally a big steak!!!
