Today, after some research and trial visits, we chose a gym. We have decided that as this country is quite expensive and as James and Hayden are at work in the week we will go to the gym every week day to get ourselves even more healthy and keep ourselves occupied. Vincent is still looking for a job but with the economic climate here being as it is there isn’t anyone hiring. We visited countless bars, restaurants and clubs to see if anyone wanted anyone but no luck so far.
The gym has a pool and sauna so I am now swimming every day as well as doing a gym routine, Vincent is spending he whole hour and a half in the gym. We are able to get to the gym by bus and train with our metro card tickets and as long as we keep within certain times it is quite cheap.
This Thursday was our dinner party and Hayden was the chef. He offered to cook some yummy veggie dishes for everyone and James invited lots of people including Josh, an old friend of mine from years ago. It was lovely to see him again and we are going to meet up with him again for his birthday in a couple of weeks. The dinner went down very well and everyone had a great night, most of us staying up until way past 5am!
This weekend James took us to Arthur’s Seat, this is a seat up at the top of a very steep cliff that looks out over the whole of the state of Victoria. We went up in the car as the cable car wasn’t running and it a pretty difficult hike but when we got to the top we opted to o one of the shorter walks. We saw an aboriginal garden where all the indigenous plants were grown and also went for a walk in a wood that looked very English except one thing, almost at the end of our walk Vincent spotted a Kookaburra up in a tree and it seemed quite happy to pose for some photos.
