Our first day of not doing that much, before we start working. We decided to go to Church gate in the South. This is the Fort area which was built by the British ("didn't we used to own that") in colonial times. So basically lots of neo gothic style grandeur that's falling into decay, with a park where they still play cricket on a Sunday. Our room: no. 112, a comfy double bed with sheets that we aren't allergic to, yay! There is air con that works well but drips on the table, there is a ceiling fan just like in our new room at home only this one is more like the down blast from a helicopter - makes a similar noise to! The floor is clean and tiled - but it does have a colony of roaches, the anti roach pellets smell awful. Our TV has only an 'up' channel button and only a handful of the 99 channels ...

So we have arrived in Mumbai (2 hours late!) at 3am this morning. It was a very humid and 27 degrees centigrade. We got to the hotel after some negotiations with a cabbie and managed to get some sleep.This morning we got up late and had our first Indian meal - veggie korma and nan bread for breakfast!
