Hello everyone!
This morning we set off from Delhi and were chauffeur driven to Agra. We were really hot and were covered in dirt!
We have just got back from seeing the Taj Mahal. It's amazing!! Much more impressive than photos. We wore asian clothes so we could look like locals and pay RS20 rather than RS750, Suhanya managed to disguise herself effectively however as Nicole is a white giant she didn't manage it sadly . People were taking photos of us like we were celebreties...lol
We are off to Goa tomorrow, we are hoping the weather is ok, after Goa we will be in Kerala!
Hello Again!
the website wont let us do a new blog entry!! We had a 31hr train journey to Goa from Agra luckily we were in the AC carriage. We had really nice Indian people sitting with us who gave us fresh fruit! There were people walking through the aisles with food saying something like "badambalay badambalay" it was soo funny although not so funny at 7am!
We met two Irish guys on the train which helped pass the time, we stayed at the same hotel in Candolim, Goa with them. It was 5 min walk from the Beach. On the first night we had a few drinks at the bar by the beach, Sunny Side Up. Then came across a hotel swimming pool so we decided to go for a swim! We then went onto the beach for a paddle (currents were pretty strong).
We spent the next few days going to Old Goa and seeing a million churches (there are many catholics in Goa) and the rest of the time we were chilling on the beach. There are packs of rabies dogs in Goa which was annoying, they seem to be attracted to us! Good job we had our rabies shots!
We arrived in Kerala on Thursday. We walked around near the port with the chinese fishing nets and watched the sunset. On friday we went to the beach on a long ferry/bus journey. It was really peaceful and we could actually go swimming in the sea. There were a few people who came up to us as we were foreign and wanted to speak to us.
This morning I (Nicole) went to a yoga class on the rooftop, it was very relaxing and also a good work out. The yoga master was quite young and he told me that later today he would be going to a meditation class where his guru levitates! We are both getting massages this afternoon! We can't wait!
Tomorrow we are off to Allappey and then planning on going on the overnight houseboat on Wednesday through the backwaters.
