We stayed in the Tresor hostel which was the nicest place we had stayed in, there was hot water and clean towels! That day we walked around the city, unfortunatly on the way it started to rain so we decided to pop into a few shopping malls till it stopped raining. The malls were amazing but sadly we couldnt buy anything! We went into a shop and saw this white dress which had netting on the bottom like a ballerina dress. Suhanya tried on the dress and when the lady asked what the occassion was for the dress I said it was for a wedding as that was the first thing that came into her head. We were both laughing inside as who wears a white dress to someone else's wedding! Suhanya looked like a fairy! The excuse for not buying it was that it was a bit too short (just above the knee). After shopping we saw the Marina bay and the singapore flyer which is singapores version of the London eye. The city was amazing at night. Later on we went to the Raffles hotel to have a Singapore Sling as recommended by Catriona. We met a guy called Dave there and he joined us. We had no idea what the price of the cocktail was but when we found out it was $26 we offset the cost by eating nearly a 3rd of the peanuts they gave to us. After we finished our drinks we left the long bar and went on the hunt for a cheaper bar! We found one near our hostel which had karaoke. It was rather amusing listening to the resients of Singapore singing. It deifinitly was not chart topping music!
The following day we saw the F1 paddock and pitstraight which was cool, Suhanya wished she was there for the race. The we walked to the fortune of wealth fountain. You had to touch the water and then walk around the fountain clockwise 3 times, we're hoping it will bring us some money!
In the evening we went on the night safari we met a girl called Laura on the bus who was travelling on her own so she joined us in our adventure at the safari. First we went on a tram ride which took us round the park. We saw rhinos, elephants, giraffs, tigers and lions. Sadly it was pretty dark so hard to see some of the animals. After the ride we went on a walking trail where we saw leopards, porcupines, otters and bats. It was pretty scary walking along the bat trail as thye were flying around and some were huge. We saw flying squirrels which was cool and one of them jumped from one side of the path to the other from tree to tree. After we saw a tribal dance performance which was interesting. The people were dancing with fire and some were putting fire batons in their mouths!
After the night safari we made our way to Singapore airport to catch out flight to Srilanka.
