Hi, We have now reached Hong Kong and have been here for the last 4 days. A very nice city where we are suddenly the poor people. I feel like sitting in the subway begging for money. Since the last time we wrote we've been to Shanghai and are now in Yangshou with two overnight train journeys inbetween (one of which was 29 hours long - i read a LOT!). Hi, been very busy since we left Shanghai. Met up with our tour group of 12 people on Friday, all very nice so we've been lucky! Hi, in Beijing now and the weather is lovely. Been to the Forbidden City today which was knackering as there was so much to look at and it's massive. It's the palace and grounds used by the old chinese emporers and is about the size of Exeter! Just been out for a meal, were hoping to have Beijing duck but it's proving difficult choosing from the menus as there is only ever chinese symbols so we end up pointing at pictures and hoping for the best. Hi, we arrived in Shanghai this morning and made it to our hostel easily which was lucky because we were both so knackered from having no sleep on the flight! It's been pouring with rain since we got here but we have had a wander around. Pleasantly surprised at the moment, where we are is very clean and quite modern and we haven't been overwhelmed by the amount of people like i was expecting!
