Well, had a great week one. Spanish school has been great fun and I´ve learnt loads. Being able to speak french is definitely helping me learn Spanish. School is hard work though with an intense 4 hours a day plus homework, so it's tiring but worthwhile.
The school has organised afternoon activities after school; so I´ve visited the cross on the hill that overlooks the town, a museum or 2, a Jade factory and a nearby volcano called Pacaya which is spewing red hot lava. This was an amazing trip and you get really close to the lava. Unfortunately I took a tumble and scraped my leg on the lava, but it´s only shallow so nothing too serious and is healing nicely already.
Unfortunately, like a muppet I brought the wrong lead with me so can´t upload any photos from my camera at the moment, but will do next week if I can find somewhere which will let me download directly from my memory card.
Tomorrow I´m off to Lake Atitlan which is meant to be beautiful and surrounded by volcanoes. When I get there I´m heading off on a boat to a small village for the day where I´m hoping to swim in the lake, get a massage and have a lazy lunch with views of the lake and volcanoes.
Bye for now
