Day 1

Arrived in Brisbane from Noosa at 13.00. Still cloudy here with the odd rain shower. Spent the afternoon wandering around the river which runs through the middle of the city. After our tea we went to the 'down under bar' which is below our hostel, where we met Angie and Carrie (girls from Fraser Island). Had a few drinks and a good dance before watching a male stripper!

Day 2

We decided to buy a bus/ferry ticket today which allowed us to travel around the city. First we got a bus to Mt Cook which we had been told was a lookout point over the city however due to the rain and cloud when the bus eventually reached the summit we couldnt see a thing - gutted! Got the river cat (ferry) up and down the river which allowed us to see most of the city because it runs through the heart of Brisbane. In the evening we got a bus to 'the valley' and chinatown (apparantly it is the place to go out) however didnt seem to be much happening here so we got the bus back to our hostel - its still raining! Thank god its not as cold as England tho!

Day 3

We went for a run around the river this morning and then spent the rest of the day shopping on Queens street (main street, loads of shops, cafes etc). Charlotte managed to loose Nicky for half an hour and buy her xmas present - now the challenge is hiding it from her for another month and a half! Booked some flights today from Canberra to Melbourne and then Melbourne back to Sydney. As our Newcastle friends arrived today we decided to go out partying!! After a few drinks on the rooftop of our hostel we went to Tinbillys bar for a dance and then back to the 'down under bar' for more drinks and dancing! Quality night.
