Day 1
Arrived from Magnetic Island at 6pm - checked into our hostel, grabbed some beans on toast and then Charlotte grabbed a few hours shut eye whilst Nicky went out and met the Newcastle girls drinking more goon. Nicky woke Charlotte up at 2.30 as they had to be in the club for 3am even though the final of the rugby world cup wasnt on until 5am - this suited Nicky as she could watch United beat Aston Villa. After losing to South Africa we headed back to our dorm at 7am for a few hours sleep
Day 2
After a few hours sleep we checked out of our dorm at 9.30am and made our way to the pier where we chilled out until 1pm where we began our Whitsundays sailing trip. We boarded the Freight Train (our boat) and set sail for our 3day adventure at sea. After helping set up the sails we cruised along for a few hours until our first snorkel stop - had to wear suits to protect ourselves from the stingers. After this we sailed to a bay to protect us from the wind where we anchored for the night. After a delicious spaghetti bol which was prepared for us whilst we watched the sun go down over the surrounding islands. After tea we led on the deck of the boat receiving a stars lesson off the skipper. After a couple of hours of sitting on the deck socialising we prepared for bed in a sailor fashion by brushing our teeth and spitting it into the ocean (very lady like!) before heading beneath the deck to our tiny bunk beds where we slept for the night.
Day 2
Up nice and early for a 6am breakfast and then sailed to our next snorkelling spot where we were given bread to hand feed the fish - some fish thought our hands were food as we got bitten a few times. After this we sailed to Whithaven beach where we stopped for dinner before getting on the motor boat to take us to the island. Here we went on a walk to a lookout point which was amazing - forth most photographed place in Australia - we could see why! The views were some of the best we have seen so far (dont worry we have plenty of photos!). Headed down to the beach which had crystal clear blue water and blinding white sand. Here we messed around writing messages in the sand (which the lucky few will receive) however whilst doing this we were oblivious to the rain storm that was heading our way. We had to make a quick dart to the forest only to protect our cameras from the rain and after they were in a dry bag we headed back out into the storm to keep oursleves entertained in the rain. Ten minutes later the sun was back out and no evidence of the rain. After an hour chilling here we got the motor boat back to freight train which sailed us to our evening destination - in another bay. We watched the sun go down again and after tea which again was amazing, unbelievable that a sunday roast can be cooked in the such a small kitchen. Chilled out on deck playing games with the rest of our crew.
Day 3
6.50 woken up by the skipper playing music. At 7.30 after breakfast we were in the water again, snorkelling with some massive fish and stunning coral and reefs. On route back to main land we were joined by a solo dolphin swimming alongside our boat. There was also many turtles spotted as they popped there heads out of the water on numerous occasions. Before we arrived back to the harbour we both sampled driving the boat - not as easy as it looks! Our Whitsundays adventure was over - thoroughly enjoyed it! Spent the rest of the day sunbathing by the lagoon with the Newcastle girls before meeting back up with our Crew in the evening for some free beer - Nicky met up with the newcastle girls and coninued to party the night away till 3.30am when they were chucked out at the end so headed for munchies then home to bed!
