Lima was our last Stop in South America! We stayed in the suburb of Miraflores, which suprised us both how clean and stunning it was. It looked alot like a western city than the capital of Peru, big shopping malls and big bright casinos! Lima also had the beach with some great views off the high cliffs of the good surf and sprawling ocean. Spoilt as Australians we obviously were not fans of the rocky dirt beach with no sand to speak of. A day in the centro of Lima is also fantastic many a old buildings that ooze class which again makes u feel like ur in Madrid or even Rome. The most unexpected site was the. Huaca Pucllana ruins which in the middle of sprawling apartments in the heart of a city was fantastic, 30 yrs ago it was a sand dune and now 50% restored it is a pyramid site of the. People that were pre the incas. Add in a world class Parque De Reserva a wonderful fountain park that at night had 12 brightly lit up fountains and a light show in a fountain. It all brought us to the conclusion that it was one of our favourite cities. But our favourite of all of Lima was our Hostel Kussilus! In the heart of Miraflores and close enough to the beach it was perfect, the rooftop terrace was its draw card! Along with the great people there at the time we would be up there drinking and playing cards from 5pm till 3-4am! Fantastic way to chill out and enjoy our last few nights in this wonderful and diverse continent that we have enjoyed so much!!
