After arriving from the extremely challenging bus trip, we finally arrived in LaPaz at only 3600m so we could breathe a little easy. We stayed in la Paz for 8 days, walking the town mostly and planning our next trip off to the Amazon but the main reason for the extended stay was a spanish course for 6 days and 18hrs in total including a fair bit of homework! We found La Paz to not be as busy as other bigger cities, although in some parts it was very congested, suprisingly some streets and markets were very laid back. We treated ourselves to some private accom the whole time too which was a nice change, for $15 a night the dorm room couldnt really beat it. It also gave us our own privacy to study. A city bus tour was a great way to see the city in which it also took you up to a fantastic lookout. At times it was very hair raising considering we were on the top level of the open top bus and the power lines that hit the bus made for interesting moments. jacks favourite restaurant was a little place around te corner from our hotel which offered a set lunch, soup/main/fruit for 8bs so just a dollar! It got better at dinner bread/soup/main/mate te for only 5bs (less than a dollar) We really did enjoy our experience in LaPaz but our next trip out too Rurrenabaque via plane into the Amazon Jungle was next and we were both so exicited to get back into travelling the unkown!
