Round the World in 155 Days!
Hey everyone
We sent almost a week in Noosa as we had a really nice place to stay that was quite cheap and were staying with some nice people. We decided to walk to Noosaville to go canoeing we walk for about 3 hours in the boiling hot sun and relise we have walked through it and have done a circle!!! we walk back but its to late to get a boat, but we had a good look around. Next day we got a bus to Noosaville and get a small fishing boat to take us up the river for a couple of hours it was really nice but if your cautious of Nicks driving in a car dont go in a boat with him! I point this out to him and he gets me to drive with out telling me what to do, and from the other side of the boat shouts ' mind that boat' I stear the boat in the wrong direction and we nearly crash but we got the boat back in one peace eventually.
Stop off at rainbow beach and have a look around nothing really there apart from a nice beach and a massive sandblow where people are hangliding - looks v cool and definatly going to try and do it. Head off to Hevery bay really looking forward to going to Fraser Island. We are staying in really nice hostel which has a pool and a table tennis table - I am a muched improved player after our tournament in Brisbane!!! We meet our group for the fraser island 3 day trip and sit in a bar planing our trip and making our shopping lists - they are all relly nice and we have an expert cook with us - result. Head off in the morning and some how Nick has been assigned driver for the first leg probably because he is the least drunk out of everyone. We get our shopping and go to the ferry port. Things go a little bit wrong here as i end up fainting, being sick and being taken by an ambulance to the hospital - all good as we get to see another side of Austrailian Life and im fine.
2 days later we do the same thing - meet group, stay in bar (most of the group are irish - alot of drinking and dissaponitingly this is the night of the england v ireland rugby which is not missed even when it started at 2am, and we lose). We go shopping and this time we make it to Fraser island. First stop is a walk to Basin lake which is really amazing, non of us expected it to be so nice and we all dive in and have a swim. We drive down Seventy Five Mile Beach, look at the shipweck and Eli Creek which is really cold fresh water. Set up camp the boys play beach football and cook up a good BBQ which brings the dingos out. Another car camping down the beach joins us and we play drinking games- I drink far to much and one of the Irish Guys says '2morrow nite we'll drink properly - we'll get the vodka out!' I can barly see and eventually go to bed.
Day 2 is a bit of a nightmare, we are all up at 6, pack up and head to Indian Head which is the best look out point on the island and you can see Tiger Sharks. Our group and another group on out tour sit at the top and watch the biggest black cloud come over and it pours down. We all run back down - its wet and cold and the soft sand is now like slush. It felt like we where in Cornwall on a bad day. Get back to the vans and boil up some tea. The day doesnt get mush better but we walk to the Champane Pools. There is alot of difficult driving which is quite funny. Some of us take a long walk to Lake Wabby which is the most difficult walk up and down sand dunes. We get there and we all run into the lake - I then freak out as there are the bighgest Cat fish you will ever see in your life in there.
3rd day the wheather is much better and we spend the day at lake McKenzie which really is like swiming in evain it is so blue and the sand is like white powder. As Nick has had to leave his bodyboard his new favouite toy is a snorkle set and spends the afternoon diving and spashing around. As the sun comes out the skys clear we are on our way back and very glade to see a shower and a proper bed.
Hope you are all well
Love Nick and Nick
