Round the World in 155 Days!
Finally dropped the squatters at the airport and began to head South. Pass back through Taupo which is strange being just the two of us, and the camper has gain a bit of speed. Result. Head through to Hastings where we camp up with a load of massive luxury campers, the town ace is out its league. We find a sky tv lounge and they have sofas and a widescreen TV with the premiership on, amazing. Turns out someone has left a nice yellow jacket at the camp, next morning its still there so being the kind Samaritan I take it with us! Set off to visit Vicky and James in Waipukurau. We pick meet them in town and then drive them home as their car broke down. They have quite a big house that has a spare room with a nice big double bed and a bath. They cook us up some food while we chill in front of the TV - complete luxury. They show us around the local attractions including the longest place name in the world which is Taumatanhikatangihangakoauaritamateapotarwhenuakitanatahw and a really nice beach. On the way back we stop at a Scottish pub and Nick takes on a local Maori lady called Mary that's about 60 at pool and looses. Next day we go to the Tui brewery (tui 0 that's the beer round here)have a short tour and free beers. We also get a free sticker for our van saying "fully serviced - yeah right".
We stayed in one place for 4 days which is a nearly a record for us so we head off but arrange to meet up to go to the South Island. We end up in Wellington a couple of days later and it is really nice.
