Mission Beach

We had planned to dive on the Great Barrier Reef from Mission Beach as we had heard that going from a smaller place offered a much better experience. Some hugh companies go from Cairns but these are apparently less personal and visit the parts of the reef that are more damaged. So once we stepped off the boat we got straight on our way. We made good progress and arrived late at Mission Beach. We woke up to the sounds of the sea and poked our heads out to be greeted by the sight of yet another beautiful beach. We went for a wonder and as the weather was so poor (lots of rain) we made the decision to spend the day on the road, travel up past Cairns and make it onto Port Douglas and the Daintree. This is an area we wanted to visit but thought we might be struggling for time.
