Merrimula

Arrived after a speedy coach journey from the grumpiest driver in the world. He reluctantly pointed us in the direction of our YHA along with several other travelers. Dumped our stuff and wandered up the road to explore. Just 30 seconds away we found a beautiful empty beach... Perfect! Spent a little while chilling out before heading into town for food. Reccomendation: Captain John's Fish and Chip Shop. Absolutely georgous grub.

Fishing is the thing to do here, so we decided to hire a rod, buy some bait and get stuck in. Very unsucessful. Hours: 2, Fish: 0. Lost patience, got angry having to wade out into the strong currents and unhook the line from the bottom of the bay. Rubbish Sport, No Fans!!! Heading to Lakes Entrance tonight, crossing the border into VICTORIA. Hopefully easier to catch fish there. Merrimbula generally a pretty seaside town with lovely locals and excellent beaches.
