**Happy Christmas**
When we woke up this morning we were annoyed to see a completely grey sky!! It was meant to be sunny but instead it was overcast and looked like there was going to be a storm! We enjoyed cheerios for breakfast and opened the stocking my mum and dad had sent us. The chocolate coins and jelly beans were much appreciated! I also got a mascara, knickers, hair ties and nail files!
We had music on in the apartment and after stockings, breakfast and some rather questionable dancing we decided "sod the weather, lets go for our Christmas picnic on the beach anyway!" So we packed up the picnic and beach bag and with our christmas hats on headed for Bondi Beach.
It was still warm outside, even with no sunshine. The beach was busy but not as packed as we'd imagined it would be on Christmas day. After some sunbathing we both headed to the sea with our santa hats on to take some photos, before going back to our spot for our Christmas picnic - Turkey sandwiches and mince pies included!
All of a sudden all of the grey clouds vanished and before long it was clear skies and roasting hot! Nick went into the sea to cool off but he was shocked to be swimming with seaweed - the waves were so much tamer than Tamarama too, he prefers Tamarama as no seaweed and bigger waves!
Whilst sunbathing we saw a small plane writing in the sky over the sea, it spelt out "call Mum", was really cool. It was so hot all afternoon, so hard to believe it was Christmas day! So many people arrived in the afternoon, once the sun was shining! Loads wearing christmas hats too.
When we made a move we looked back and the beach was packed out! We're glad we went down even though the weather was dull this morning.
We stayed up late into the night chatting to our families on skype - enjoying their christmas mornings on the webcam. We've had a great day, so cool to spend christmas on the beach but it's not the same as being at home. Off to bed now, it's mega late, well early lol and it's been a long day - could be an uncomfy night for Nick though as he's a little red!!
