We survived Night 1. Pulled into Neil Turner weir just on 5.30pm, just in time to get set up for the night before we lost the light. The setting up process is pretty much down pat, may not be so confident about that statement in the pouring rain but hey let's run with the dry for now! We were the only camper trailer at the spot surrounded by grey nomads in their caravans enjoying the peace of the bush.... Until paddy clambers out of the car excitedly yelling and carrying on as he does!! I'm sure the generators were switched on to drown out the "muuuummm, mummy what u doing mummy".
As the sun disappeared the cold came and we all reached for the jackets, beanies and gloves! As we were only stopping for 1 night we didn't set up the awning over the kitchen so the cold really hit us, after dinner paddy was set up in his sleeping bag with DVD player on and we weren't far behind just to get into a warm bed, snuggle up and watch a movie. Early morning paddy need up in our bed to keep warm, I'm sure he takes up more room than clint and I together! And as soon as the birds tweeted paddy was awake.
Despite the early start we didn't get on the road after a fuel stop until 0930. Planned destination Longreach for a couple of nights, do a little sightseeing tomorrow visit stockmans hall of fame, Qantas museum, catch up with a couple of mates and more importantly have a shower! Ha
So 6.5hrs ish today... Thank god for DVD players, although we have limited it to viewing time after lunch only!
