We caught another Greyhound bus to Brisbane from Mooloolaba early in the morning and found ourselves a hostel. I've got to say I was a little disappointed by Brisbane. It was somewhere I was looking forward to going but it didn't really live up to expectations. There wasn't that much to do there. We ate a couple of Nando's and went to our local pub a few times but there wasn't much else there. The one day I did enjoy there was a trip to 'Lone Pine Animal Sanctuary' where you can get up close to the animals. They had a sheep dog display on when we got there which was very clever. We saw the usual way of rounding the sheep but then 2 different dogs came out and jumped on the sheep's backs and just barked at them until they did what the farmer wanted! It was funny to watch and clever of the dogs! We watched them shearing a sheep as well which was cool.
We saw a presentation about koala's and were able to stroke one at the end. Some people were paying $20 or so just to hold one but I was quite happy with just stroking one. They don't like to be held apparently anyway. We were also able to get up close with some kangaroos and wallabies. They were very cool just relaxing in a massive field and hopping around hunting down the people carrying food!
