After staying a night in Milford sound we drove back to te anau for another night. We were greeted by the most sarcastic English girl I've ever met! She tried to cover it up by being nice once she knew that David was from Ireland but she wax so miserable!
We visited the glow worm caves in the evening. It wax a really cool trip. We took a ferry ride across the lake to the caves and had a laugh at the captain trying to tell all the Asian passengers to stay seated until being told to disembark, and then being totally ignored!
The caves were amazing, we weren't allowed to take pictures inside but they were really dark and low in some places with a river and waterfalls flowing through the middle. We caught a pitch black boat ride through the middle to see the glow worms. They were everywhere above us just shining like stars in the night sky! It even looked like they were making constellations! These ones were blue unlike the yellow ones we had seen in Milford sound. The boat ride was funny cos our guide was trying to manoeuvre in the dark and had a bit of trouble do we kept bashing into the sides! I couldn't help but laugh when we were meant to be being silent!
On the way over to te anau we stopped at the mirrored lakes, a chasm and the humbolt falls. The south island is really great for just stumbling across really amazing features! You don't need to plan what you're going to see, you just come across it!
