Left London at 7am this morning and meet all the wonderful people we are hanging out with for the next 18 days.

We drove to Dover and saw the white cliffs of Dover which were very cool. Then caught the ferry across to France. Once arrived we had a 4.5 hour drive to Paris. By then we had already met a couple who were also on their honeymoon which surprise surprise were from NZ and strangely enough live about 10 mins drive from us in Palmerston North.

After we checked into our hotel we all had dinner out. Chris and I had French onion soup for entree along with a side of pesto and garlic snails. Snails not too bad just a bit chewy!! A girl at our table ate everyone's at the table who didn't eat them and ended up with 4!! Chris then had duck for main and I had beef stew. Both very nice.

We then jumped on the bus and went for a tour of the city by night so we could see the main sites of Paris and get our bearings. We drove around the Arc de Triomph on our tour coach and it was insane!!! Felt like we were going to tip over!! We saw the Eiffel Tower!!! It is wonderful and brings a certain type of magic to everyone. First impression of Paris - hot and slightly chaotic.
