Hello!!

Hope you are all well. I am in Thailand now and feeling very chilled out! I flew in on Wednesday and had a bit of a nightmare at the airport! I arrived at the airport to collect my suitcase which i had left while i had been in KL and then made my way to the departure gate. I couldn't see my flight on the board so i had a little panic thinking it might be cancelled. I went to check at the infomation point only to be informed that I was at the wrong terminal and I needed to be at the budget airline terminal! I hadn't realised there was more than one so i asked him how to get to the other one expecting it to be an easy walk or something only to be told that it was a 40 minute drive away!!!! I managed to get a taxi and watched the time tick past convinced that I was going to miss my flight! I made it to the check in counter in time where i was charged 20 pounds because i hadn't said that i would be checking in any luggage apparenty!! Anyway, I got my boarding pass and everything then made my way to the gate. I had a small pull along case as my hand luggage which was pretty similar to those most of the other people had but as i walked though the man at security decided to ignore everyone else, pick me out of crowd and get his tape measure out the check the size of my case!! Typically it was 1/2 an inch to big to be classed as cabin luggage so he made me go back to the desk and check it in. This cost my 40 pounds which meant that with my taxi i had spent 70 pounds at the airport getting my luggage on the plane - my ticket had only been about 20 pounds in the first place!!!!!!

Needless to say I wasn't in the best of moods and it got worse when on the 40 minute drive from the airport to my hotel, my taxi driver decided to stop at this travel agency he was obviously in cahoots in where they tried to get me to sign up for loads of different tours and day trips. I didn't!! To add to all this it was raining buckets and the driver told me there was a thunderstorm on the way - so much for my tropical island reatreat!!!! My mood brightened when we got to my hotel though. It's amazing!!!! It's right on the sea front so i can see the beach and the sea from my window. I've got the hugest bed - definately a king and my own little sundeck (not that i intend to sit on it but you know!!!) I didn't do much that evening just slept in my lovely big bed!!

Yesterday I didn't do anything that exciting - I went for a swim, had a walk on the beach and read my book. I had Phad Thai for dinner last night which is a really famous thai dish - it was rice noodles and king prawns. It was really good and the fact that they gave me a little bowl of chillies to go with it made it even better!! This afternoon i had my first accident of the trip!! I managed to miss a step walking by the pool and fell flat on my face! It was more embarrassing than painful but I have got pretty nasty gash on my knee (which i have photograped!!!) My pride was hurt more than anything though!! All that worrying I did up those mountains in the rice terraces and I manage to hurt myself doing the simple task of walking!!! At least I got to use my first aid kit though!!!

I don't intend to do much over the weekend but next week I will be going to visit all the nearby islands so i'll keep u all updated and try and get my pics on soon!
