And so onto Laos!!!! OMG did we LOVE Luang Prabang!! We sacrificed an extra night in vientienne for an extra night here and we're so glad we did!! There were so many lovely bars and resturaunts - Utopia was one in particular we loved - you could drink overlooking the river. We had some cultural persuits too - the best being a hill in the middle of the city, we climed to the top and passed loads of beautiful buddah statues on the way - we even got chatting to a Monk (about football no less??!!!!). We also got up at 5am one day to feed the monks sticky rice on their alms route (yes - 5am!! Not gonna lie - we went back to bed for a bit after!! ha ha!!) We even went to the museum - AND, get this - the theatre one night!! They told a traditional story through music and dance and the costumes were fab!! There was an amazing night market for handicrafts and an even more amazing one for food!! (see the picture of the FIT fish!!!) One night we were having a few lao lao moonshine buckets in Lao Lao bar and we met these British lads - they were HILLARIOUS!!! There's a curfew in Laos and all the bars are closed by midnight - yet randomly there's a bowling alley that stays open till 3 serving booze!! So we went there with them (I was shockingly bad at the bowling!!! lol!!) and we had soooo much fun!!
Ahhh, so much to talk about Luang Prabang - just loved it!! So different there!! We also found an amazing bar over the river (you have to hop on a little boat with thislittle Laos man to get there!!) and it was soooo pretty, all pretty and lit up!! We spoke with the woman wo lived there - she was French Canadian and had fell in love with Luang Prabang and moved there, I can see why!!!
