Naomi and Becky's Travels
Sydney has been amazing!! Stayed here about a week and of course Ben is out here with me which makes it all the more perfect!
The opera house is pretty stunning - especially if you catch ity on a sunny day - otherwise it looks a bit yellow!! Considered clinbing the harbour bridge but decided $165 was quite a lot! Did loads of other stuff though - went to the aquarium which was pretty good, went jet boating round the hrabour - definately recommended - wait for a hot day though cos you get soaked!!! Did loads of powerbrakes where the water just sprayed us and power slides - really good fun. Also went to the Minus 5 bar - it's a bar completely made of ice (was actually minus 8 degrees when we went in)! Including the glasses you drink out of! Got provided with big coats and boots luckily so didn't get too cold!
Went for a lovely meal at a restaurant called Wolfies overlooking the harbour and the Opera House - Ben had kangaroo - really strong - I didn't like it! He did though luckily! Really romantic with loads of pretty star lights! After went for a walk around circular quay tp the opera house where Ben got down on one knee and proposed! I was so shocked I cried! Said Yes though! Absolutely gorgeous ring - couldn't have picked a nicer one if he tried!
The next day we went to Bondi - really nice beach and some good shops - had to wait ages for a bus back to the train station though! Had a really good day weather wise as well which was a bonus so gave me a chance to top up my tan! Ben's not too impressed because for once in my life I am actually browner than him!
Also paid a visit to Manly - another beach which is north of Sydney. Didn't think it was as nice as Bondi but still really nice - we were going to swim in the sea here but then heard an announcement that loads of blue bottles were being washed on shore so decided against it - once you're stung, you're stung and there's nothing you can do about it!! (that was the announcement made by the lifeguard!)
Overall really enjoyed Sydney - really nice place with absolutely tonnes of stuff to do - if you're willing to spend a bit of money! Didn't find it too expensive...
