Arrived in the Blue Mountains and weather was awful - drizzle and really low cloud so couldn't see a thing - walked all the way from our hostel to Echo Point to see the 3 sisters but they were completely covered by cloud!! Second day was much better - clear sunny day! Got a trolley bus pass and got dropped off at Echo Point again and could actually see the 3 sisters this time! Walked from here to Scenic World along a walking track - took about an hour - saw Katoomba cascades and Katoomba falls on the way - by this time we were at the bottom of the mountain - got the scenic railway back to the top - its the steepest in the world and was pretty scary - we sat at the bottom and felt like we were going to fall out!! Managed to take a few photos on the way up - dont think they quite show how steep it actually was though! From here we got the trolley bus to Gordon falls then walked from here to leura - getting lost a few times on the way - along with everyone else - every person we passed was asking if we knew where we were and we were asking them if they knew where we were!! Eventually managed to navigate our way to the top of the mountain and found the bus stop. Got back to the hostel and we were absolutely shattered after walking for hours across rough terrain!! Did wonders for the muscles in our legs - ached a lot the next day though!
