... and on to Sydney. Haven’t written for a few days as it’s been a whirlwind and lots of fun. Thursday brought a quieter day. We visited Perth’s Botanical Gardens which are spectacular. It was lovely to see such a vast variety of different plants and the colours in the spring flowers were stunning. Jane patiently taught me about focusing in on the flower while leaving the background blurred so I loved walking round taking pix. I must do a course when I get home! The afternoon was spent at Janes house, it’s been so great having friends to stay with to help orientate us to Australia. And the evening was spent eating delicious fresh pasta and playing games with Jons brother Alaistair, while Jon went to see Michael Parkinson of all people.
Friday was picnic day so we packed up the fridge and set off for the nearest bush, about an hour out of Perth. Here we saw the flowers in their natural habitat. As we poms do, we had the picnic in the rain
