Our last day in Norway! Today we explored just a touch more of Oslo. We left this morning around 9:30 and took a ferry over to the Viking Ship Museum. It was incredible! These ancient ships were found in burial mounds. Because of the soil the ships and almost all of their contents were preserved. Today was our last day on the Best of Norway tour. We did a lot of riding today, looking at the beautiful scenery while we headed back to meet the ship in Oslo. On the way we stopped in Lillehammer where the 1994 Winter Olympics Games were held. Our guide told us about the infrastructure the Norwegians set up for Norway during the games. This morning we had to be on the bus by 7am so we put ate a quick breakfast and headed out to the bus where we, of course went through another barrage of tunnels and narrow roads until we arrived at another UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Gerirangerfjord. This morning we had a wonderful buffet breakfast and left our hotel at 8am. It hasn't even been but a few hours since we arrived in our second hotel but I can't tell you how many ferries we have taken and tunnels we went through. I have NEVER…NEVER seen a more beautiful place than Norway. We had a full class day today and then we got off the ship at 6:00pm and 44 of us boarded our bus for an organized SAS trip called The Best of Norway.
