Neil's Round the World Trip!
I got up around 8am and felt much better but still had stomach pains. I was going to have a shower but the water was cold and I got electric shocks from the shower switch. I had a light breakfast and then went searching for a pharmacy who gave me antibiotics. I walked around the city which is so congested with cars, collectivos and micro buses spewing out exhaust fumes. Everyone just walks in front of moving cars and hopes they'll slow down to cross the road. The city is noisy with peeping cars, drivers shouting for passengers to come in their collectivos and the roar of car engines sitting stuck in traffic.
Later I walked through the witches market and gawped at the llamas testicles in vinegar for sale. Also there are dried llama fetuses and various other weird medicinal remedies. I walked down to the area of the city where the "death road" operators are but it wasn't there. i double-checked my map but it wasn't there. My Lonely Planet is 2 years out of date. I gave up and walked to the British Airways office to arrange my flight home in early July. However the woman said my ticket was Quantas and so I must go to their office 40 blocks away..no chance. I will have to change my ticket in the beautiful city of Buenos Aires. I went to Burger King and had some fast food for the first time in ages; it was forgettable but safe I suppose. I went back to my hostel and rested, taking my antibiotics. I watched a stupid American film called "16 Candles" while the English girl next door played her bloody novelty pan-pipes. I drifted off around 11pm.
