I had one more night in Koh Phi Phi which wasn't a bad night to be fair. I went to a bar called the "Reggae Bar" which had a ring in the bar in which anyone could step up and have a fight. It was quite entertaining. Next morning I was more than happy to get out of there. I had bought a ticket to Phuket so thought I might as well head over there and have a quick 24 hours on the island.
I booked into a 5 star absolute beast of a hotel and enjoyed a very chilled out 24 hours. The location was beautiful, my room was huge with a great view. I swam, ate amazing food, drank a variety of delightful cocktails and listened to a good jazz type band in the evening. The main singer reminded me a bit like a Thai version of Hanson (mmm bop). I didn't really see any of Phuket which didn't bother me too much. I had decided that I wanted off these islands, I'm not really in the beach lounging mood. I have a lot of travelling ahead of me and the thought of lounging around doesn't really do anything for me at the moment (although the 24 hours in the 5* hotel was thoroughly enjoyed!). So, I will probably head down to the islands on the other side (Ko Samui, Ko Pha-Ngan and Ko Tao) at the end of my journey when I'm sure I'll embrace the relaxed lifestyle and also spend a few days diving. Until then though, I have lots to see. I have decided to head to Northern Thailand, to Chiang Mai. It's about 900 miles away so I'll be jumping on a plane tomorrow and heading up there for 3 nights.
