Passed Nat's dad just before Kimba mid afternoon. I don't think I could handle driving so slowly for so long. Having said that - it might be nice not to have to worry about roos or wombats at that speed! It has taken them 10 days to cover what we've done in 5 days. We had a truck too close for comfort behind us as we approached so didn't stop to chat! Bill probably wondered who was waving madly out the passenger window :)

Next bit was written18/08 but no internet connection available. On the road again … We're somewhere east of the 90 mile straight stretch of road, east of Balladonia. Had a great campsite last night. GPS reading of S32o13.528'E123o22.620' if anyone wants to check (Phil?). Added a new bird to our 'life list' thanks to Tim having photographed them. Yellow Throated Miners. Slept slightly better than first night. Have to remember that we're in bed around 8.00pm...

Stopped for a pee break a bit before Merredin. Here is NOT the place to hide from view! Found a more suitable bush to hide behind ;). Birds we have seen today - Noisy Miner, Pied Butcher Birds including a juvenile plus the ever present ravens and galahs and a couple of birds of prey too distant to identify. Drove through a town called Ghooli! Also passed the Etamoogah Pub - an exact replica of the one I remember from Uncle Ted's Bill Jolliffe comic books....

The title says it all - Looks as though we're leaving Tuesday, or later. Alternator problems. RAC chap says we're lucky - it could have meant loss of power in the middle of nowhere!
