Today we got up at 6:00am and set off at 7:00am and departed new York for Philadelphia. When we pulled up to the place were they keep the liberty bell (yeah I don't know what it is either) the first thing I saw wasn't the interesting historical things it was a food kart that said "voted number 1 Philly cheese steak sandwich" so as soon as we got of the bus we separated from the group and headed straight for the food. It cost $5 each and it was the best food in USA so far by a long way. We then looked at this bell thing through a window, which will do for me.
After Philadelphia we headed to Washington DC and we watched X-men on the way. When we got to DC we went to the Smithsonian museum (and because it was free we went in) it was pretty cool in there because of all the spaceships and the Wright brothers first plane and there was a McDonalds in there so we had our first one in usa, it was nice, the chips and drinks were HUGE.
After dinner we went to Capital hill which was big and posh. We then we went to Obama's house (The White house) and we didn't see him :-( and becky saw a t-shirt that said "obama got osama god bless america" lol .Next the tour group headed on a boat ride but because me and Becky have to be careful with money we didn't go so we just chilled on the bus for an hour.
When the rest of the group got on the bus a woman said "you didn't miss much it was really boring" which we thought it would be and then we proceeded to the Lincoln memorial which was alot bigger than we expected and we got some cheesy pics, but the water at the memorial wasn't there they were doing work on it fail!
And finally for today we went to a service station thing for some food and the group went for a Chinese buffet but we were still full from the massive McDonalds so we had some Dunkin donuts instead lol. Got a few beers from the supermarket and had a relax in bed.
Will update again tomorrow we are goin a chocolate factory mmmmm.

Laura Cooke Your philly cheese sandwich sounds amazing, was thinking about that when i had my break in the good old galley. If you see a dairy queen at any point on your travels make sure you stop in - you won't be disappointed. x
