We arrived in Boston at night time on 5th October all the tour group were going to a lobster dinner which turned out to be in a Chinese restaurant so we were glad we didn't fork out the $30, why these Chinese people go to every Chinatown instead of seeing the real city is bizarre. So we went for a night time city stroll and a couple beers. The hotel we stayed in was called cocos hotel and water park it was beautiful. The pools were closed by the time we got there :(
The next day we went to Harvard university in the morning, we saw a few red beers cups strewn around the houses but the uni itself wasn't that impressive we have much prettier uni buildings in the UK. The town where Harvard is is called Cambridge and they tried to make it like England and it really does look like an english town so we liked it there, we had cheesy bacon and egg baps for breakfast, Becky loves American cheese!
Then we went on a cruise around Boston harbour which was excellent but bloody cold! There was also commentary in Chinese which was a great help to us!
For lunch we went to Quincy Market which was so pretty and had so much food selection it took us half an hour to decide what to have! We tried clam chowder which was creamy but not overly fishy but still don't think we could handle a full bowl as it's so creamy. We also tried salt water taffee which is famous in Boston but it was a bit weird!
Then we set off on the road again for newark where we were staying at the Hilton. On the way we drove through manhattan and the driver was telling us about an area where a lot of Dominican people live, he said there was a lot of drug problems and "they kill people like they kill chickens around here". Lovely.
We had to walk to the Hilton from the remaissance where they dropped us off, luckily not in the murder area! We did washing in the Hilton and relaxed in the pool and jacuzzi. We made the most of it as we would be camping the next day!
